I realize I am going to revisit an issue but quit honestly it is at the top of the list of concerns today because it involves the land. I don’t care how poor of a history student you are, you must realize that throughout the course of human history every major battle or war has been about land. Regrettably, we seem to be our own worst enemy when it comes to allowing others to take away the only asset that lends itself to freedom and liberty. It is about the Land.
Despite the fact that I’ve talked about it before, we need to revisit this movement around the globe to “Rewild Earth.” While there have been different terms used to describe the agenda, dating back to 1910 when John D. Rockefeller Jr. invested millions of dollars in the restoration of nature. A few have tried to promote the concept of “Ecological Restoration.” I did not actually find anything in the history of Rockefeller regarding an intent to encroach on private property rather his investment was aimed at management of the U.S. Park System.
It is those trying to control today’s world that want to reduce the population of earth by a couple billion people and now they have latched on to the Rewilding concept, today I offer proof.
I don’t need to tell anyone reading this that the movement has been “ahoof” to blame cows for climate crisis. First of all, our climate is not in a crisis, but normal weather cycles are amongst us.
A month ago I wrote about how Montana Indian tribes where expanding the bison herds and the media thought it was wonderful for natural environment and carbon sequestration. In fact, some are now calling it the “America Serengeti.”
Here is an example of reporting about it at the time from YES, Solutions Journalism:
In 2021, the Aaniiih Nakoda College received a $3.5 million grant from the National Science Foundation to create the ʔíítaanɔ́ɔ́nʔí/Tatag ́a (“buffalo” in Aaniiih and Nakoda) Research and Education Center. The goal was to offer students the opportunity to study the relationship between the Fort Belknap Indian Community, the Tribal bison herd, and the prairie ecosystem. By providing opportunities for ecological research on the bison herd, paired with academic training to increase community knowledge of sustainable land management practices, the center’s goal is to create a sense of connection for students.
I will be the first to tell you that I think students working with American Bison is a wonderful thing. I think anytime we can get these cultures back to their roots, everybody wins. But this past week we had more great news about the grazing ruminants of the world.
From The Cool Down news outlet:
"The new research, reported by the Guardian, looked at a group of 170 bison roaming freely within about 20 square miles of land in Romania's Tarcu mountains. In the paper, which has yet to be reviewed, the researchers assert that the grazing behaviors of these bison could potentially capture more than 59,000 tons of planet-heating carbon each year. That is roughly the equivalent to the annual output of 43,000 U.S. vehicles."
So I am back to the original premise here. Grazing animals, under management of human beings, are exactly what the health of the planet needs. We continue to let them get away with rhetoric about the dangers of cows grazing the 74% of the earths surface that can not grow food for human beings. Yet somehow the ruminant animal upcycles it into the most nutrient dense food substance on the planet.
In fact, I know of no better example to use than that of the American Indian and their treatment by the Federal Government when we wanted their land. After the Federal Government decimated the buffalo herd to roughly 1000 animals, the feds were about to corral them and sequester them on the reservations. If you cannot see the repeat occurrence happening in plain sight here and now, well you have too much smoke in your eyes.
Grazing animals and the land they cover are the key to our freedom going forward. That I am very bullish on.
What a handsome bull...Brahma? Reason why I have worn boots my whole life.
Am a past land surveyor from ND to TX to CA...mostly pipeline but much cadastral and construction... As agree about the Land.
As you spoke on transmission corridors, the UN planned in '91 with clinton- signing for the NorthAmericanUnion. Reason for open borders, but also Transcontinental Corridors that made the interstates N-S and E-W...country all divided with those from borders...so I always thought those ROW were to be used for utilities, but then when was in North Dakota doing seismograph, those huge transmission towers were all over ...we used them as markers to know where we were...we had cat towers, and girl and boy towers, and owl towers. At the time I thought it was great diverse income for landowners with royalties, and grazing below, but then studied the huge disruption to health caused by high frequency...maybe the beginning of this 5G problem I may be dealing with...no one around who might assess it though so it is whatever I guess...part of progress and I am part of sacrifice. I hope can find work in Cody and move to a hole outside of town as not a city dweller. Live on an alley now and so much traffic to steal from the Thrift Store on other end of the block. Hope God provides at his perfect timing.
Thanks Trent.
